Something for the Christmas season Jeremy leaned against the wall and took another swallow of the eggnog as he looked out at the crowd of his mingling, flirting, and dancing coworkers. It was almost as if he were watching them through a window he felt so disconnected from them. The only person he enjoyed talking to was Ane and she was with her boyfriend tonight. Well, not her boyfriend exactly.
Jeremy smiled to himself remembering the day he'd commented on the unique necklace Ane wore, a braided silver chain fastened with a tiny padlock. She had explained to him that she was a submissive and the necklace was a collar symbolizing her master, Iain's ownership.
Jeremy had been shocked at first, but the more he researched the subject and the more he talked to Ane the more he began to relate to the idea. When he had admitted to Ane that he wouldn't mind having a collar of his own, and everything that came with it she had offered to introduce him to other people from the bdsm lifestyle. In fact, she had hinted that she had someone she wanted him to meet tonight.
Jeremy sighed. He couldn’t really blame Ane for forgetting about him. After all Iain had been away on a business trip for almost a month and just gotten back in town in time for the company Christmas party.
Jeremy was staring off into space, feeling lonely and a little sorry for himself when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning he found himself looking into Ane's smiling blue eyes.
"What did you do with Iain?" Jeremy asked looking over her shoulder.
"Oh a couple of the accountants dragged him off to discuss something about the client he met with in Vancouver."
Ane wrinkled her nose in disgust and Jeremy laughed.
"Anyway it gives me a chance to introduce you to someone." Ane grinned mischievously.
Jeremy eyed her, feeling a little nervous.
"Who?" he asked.
"Oh a friend of Iain's and mine." Ane answered. "I think you will like her, and what's more, I think she will like you."
"Is she, um, Is she a Domme?" Jeremy asked.
Ane nodded and grabbed his hand. "Come on, you don't want to keep her waiting do you?"
Still Jeremy hesitated. "But, what will I say to her? What will I call her? Mistress?"
Ane laughed.
"I wouldn’t around this uptight crowd." she said with a derisive look at the people milling about grazing and drinking. "Her name is Scarlette, and no cracks about southern belles if you know what is good for you. You can address her as ma'am, polite as you are no one will notice that."
Ane tugged on his arm again. "Come on, would I steer you wrong? It's not like you have to do anything, just meet her. Maybe talk a little."
Ane lead him around and through the crowd, pausing near the far wall and looking around. She let go of Jeremy's arm and looked puzzled.
"I left her here just a minute ago."
Jeremy glanced around and his attention was suddenly caught by a scene just beyond the glass doors that led to the courtyard. A tall dark haired woman stood with her back to him, head tipped back just a little, snowflakes clinging to her long hair and red velvet dress. As Jeremy watched she stretched her hand out catching the flakes on her bare palm.
Ane looked to see what he was staring at and smiled.
"There she is!"
Taking his arm again she led Jeremy out into the snow. The woman turned at the sound of the door, and smiled at Ane. Her dress was long sleeved with a plunging neck line that almost exposed well rounded breasts. The sides where slit revealing calf high black boots, topped by rose patterned black stockings.
Jeremy stood nervously next to Ane, eyes on his shoes as Ane's friend looked him up and down.
"You must be Jeremy." She said, smiling at him. She reached out and traced his jaw line with her finger, sending a bolt of electricity through him with that contact that made him tremble slightly.
"You are right Ane." She said, withithout taking her eyes off of him. "Very nice."
Jeremy blushed deeply, still not daring to look at the beautiful woman in front of him.
Scarlette chuckled softly.
"Shall we go in out of the snow?" she said, slipping her arm through Jeremy's and reaching for Ane's hand.
The three of them slipped back into the noise and warmth of the party and Ane found a table for them in one of the quieter corners of the room. Scarlette embraced Ane and pointed her in Iain's direction.
"I know you are eager to get away from us." she said with a wink. "You go on back to Iain and Jeremy and I will get to know each other a little better."
Jeremy blushed and held out a chair for Scarlette. "Ccan I get you something to drink, Ma'am?" he stuttered. "The eggnog isn't bad, or um, maybe some white wine?"
Scarlette smiled, enjoying the color in his cheeks. "No, just a cup of coffee with cream, no sugar. Coffee for you as well, I want you clear headed."
Jeremy's blush deepened as he hurried away to find the coffee. His mind was racing, just minutes ago he'd been miserable and bored, now his heart raced and his knees felt a little weak. Misstress Scarlette seemed to have stepped directly from one of his fantasies. If only she would want him, hope and fear seemed to boil in his stomach. He could still feel the touch of her fingers on his skin.
Back at the table Jeremy set a cup of coffee in front of Scarlette and slid into a chair accross from her with his own cup. Scarlette lifted the cup and took a sip before she spoke.
"Thank you Jeremy, but in future I expect you to offer the cup and wait for me to accept it. Also, you will wait until I invite you to sit."
Jeremy blushed crimson. "I I'm sorry Ma'am, I didn't mean..."
Scarlette raised her hand to silence him. "There is no need to go on, or to worry about it further, a simple yes Ma'am and remembering next time are all I'm looking for"
/>Jeremy stared down at his cup. "Yes, Ma'am" he said.
Scarlette reached across the table, raised his chin with her finger tips and smiled at him. "Very good, now drink your coffee and tell me about yourself."
Jeremy felt himself relaxing again in the warmth of that smile. "Yes Ma'am. What would you like to know."
"Why don't you start at the beginning." She answered.
Jeremy found himself spending the next several hours telling Scarlette all about himself, from his childhood to his hopes and dreams for the future. She listened intently, asking a questions here and there, and occasionally telling him a little about herself. When Scarlette mentioned that it was getting late he was shocked to look at his watch and find that is was one in the morning.
Jeremy felt suddenly deppressed at the thought of leaving Scarlette's presence. Scarlette seemed to read his thoughts.
"How about we go back to my place and continue getting to know each other."
Jeremy brightened instantly. "Yes, Ma'am. I would love to." he said. then dropped his eyes, afraid he seemed to eager.
Scarlette stood and ruffled his hair. "Come on then, lets go tell Ane we are leaving. I am her guest after all and you don't need to be going off with a stranger without letting a friend know."
Jeremy stood and follwed Scarlette across the room where Ane and Iain stood talking with a small group of people. The two of them moved away as Jeremy and Scarlette approached. Scarlette hugged both Iain and Ane, thanking them for inviting her and telling them goodnight.
"Jeremy and I are going to head back to my place." she said.
Ane smiled and gave Jeremy a hug. "Did I do good?" she whispered in his ear. Jeremy blushed and nodded, glancing to where Scarlette was laughing with Iain.
Ane smiled, noticing his look. "You have a good time, and call me when you get home, ok?"
"Ok" Jeremy answered blushing again.
"Coming, Jeremy?" Scarlette called over her shoulder, already heading across the room. "Lets get our coats. I'm supposed to have a taxi waiting and I don't want to be stranded here."
Jeremy gave Ane a quick kiss on the cheek and shook Iain's hand, then hurried after her.
At the cloak room Jeremy helped Scarlette on with her long leather coat, then shrugged into his own jacket and followed her out into the dark and snow. The taxi was just pulling up to the curb as they left the building and Jeremy held the door for Scarlette, then slipped in after her. As they pulled away he noticed the christmas lights that had looked cheesy to him when he had arrived that evening looked almost magical now. He gave himself a mental shake for such a silly thought and peeked over at the woman beside him.
Scarlette smiled back at him reaching to trace his cheek with the tip of one finger, then tip his chin back up as he ducked his head. Jeremy shivered slightly as she looked into his eyes, craving more of her touch. She seemed to sense his vulnerability, slipping an arm around his shoulders as she murmered in his ear, "you can always go back you know."
Jeremy's eyes opened wide. "No... please.." he stammered
His heart sank. Had he done something wrong, was she going to send him away? But she only smiled and shushed him, brushing his hair back from his forhead.
